Purchase information

We have the right to cancel a sale at anytime if we feel uncomfortable with the new puppy buyer or if the transaction has turned unpleasent in anyway,.  This should be a happy comfortable time not stressful or demanding from either parties, a good realationship between breeder and buyer is at most important if either feels uncomfortable its best to not continue the transacton.  We place our puppies with PHOTOS ONLY if we can get a video we will post one however not on demand. If you would like more photos we have no problem getting you a few more.

 

A Non-Refundable Deposit of $1000 will reserve you a spot for picking a puppy or will reserve a puppy until payment is due in full.  I chart and price the puppies at approx.. 6-8 weeks of age. This is when clients pick their puppies in the order deposits are received, or they may pass at this time if the puppy is not what they are wanting or if the puppy is not in their budget. Clients must decide on a puppy the day photos and pricing are done as other clients are waiting to pick their puppy too. It is not set in stone that you have to take a puppy before knowing the price or appearance of the puppies.  Our puppies come with a 1yr health guarantee and a strict spay/neuter agreement. All our yorkie puppies come with a health certificate by our vet prior to leaving.  No breeding rights on our puppies pet only homes.

Our puppies start at $4000. This does not mean there will be a pup for that price in the litter, but its a starting point. Please do take this into consideration when purchasing a puppy. Animals can be just like humans. We are not the same size as our parents or siblings. Even if you have two short parents you may take after your great-grandparent and be a bit taller. This works the same for dogs. Just because the parents are a certain size does not mean your puppy will turn out like them. Parents can be short backed, short legs, have a short nose, but the babies possibly can have a longer back or a bit longer nose, different color or grow bigger or smaller than the parents. For this reason, we cannot guarantee the size or how your puppy will mature when he/she is an adult  (and no honest breeder ever can), however, I provide an honest educated estimated size from 20 years of past experience.

Unfortunately, there are people out there that like to bash breeders down if puppies do not turn out as they wanted. There are other breeders that knock other breeders business down because they are hurtful, jealous, unkind, or don’t follow contracts. They take it out online and bash and hurt breeders like they have no soul or life beyond the internet world… so please keep in mind I value my reputation and my puppies, and I do the very best of my ability to give an estimated size based on 20 years of experience.

I hope you love your puppy as much as you would your own baby regardless of how big or small it ended up. Also note it’s a difficult estimation giving pounds of a dog because size is really about inches, to begin with. Two same-sized dogs can be a pound apart but be the same size, depending on their diet, build, and optimal health. This does not account for overfeeding, human food, or treats.

All of my puppies have quality features that make their faces even more adorable than some breeders whose litters are not as cute and you will be blessed with the cutest puppy faces over most breeders.

Hypoglycaemia in Yorkies

Hypoglycemia is the medical term for blood sugar concentration below normal levels.  You may have heard of people suffering from hypoglycemia, but did you know that your tiny Yorkies can also suffer from it?  Hypoglycemia in regular size Yorkies and tiny Yorkies | or underweight tiny Yorkies puppies can happen. It is not a disease but a potentially dangerous condition that you can prevent.

Yorkies and other toy breeds are particularly prone to canine hypoglycemia. The primary fear of every Yorkie owner/ tiny Yorkies owner is that the puppy will have Hypoglycemia.  This condition is often due to a lack of glucose (sugar) and inadequate nutrition.  It usually happens when a puppy is not eating as much as they should either from stress or not feeling well. Yorkie puppies under 4 months of age are often affected by this type of hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is common in toy dog breeds such as the Yorkshire Terrier, Pomeranian, and Toy Poodles.  It can also occur in puppies 5 to 16 weeks of age. Puppies bred for their tiny size are more predisposed to hypoglycemia in dogs because insufficient muscle mass makes it difficult for the body to store glucose and regulate blood sugar properly.  For this reason, TINY Yorkies and other tiny dogs should be fed a high-quality diet several times a day.

Symptoms of hypoglycaemia in Tiny Yorkies

If your tiny Yorkies suffer from hypoglycemia you will be able to tell at once.  Early signs of hypoglycemia in dogs include weakness, confusion, frothing or drooling, wobbly gait, vomit, and eyes can twitch they start getting very tired, the puppy may be shivering and trembling, and the body temperature will drop.  The gums and tongue will appear pale and greyish-white rather than a healthy pink. As the condition progresses the Yorkie may appear limp and lifeless.  Their eyes may become unfocused and unresponsive.  If not cared for properly and promptly,  Yorkie puppies can go into a coma or convulsions and can pass quickly be quick with this and no time to delay your Yorkies life depends on getting sugar into his/her system and to the vet asap.

Causes of hypoglycemia

Hypoglycemia in tiny Yorkies is often caused by not eating.  Generally, hypoglycemia can occur after just eight hours of not eating.  For small puppies and toy breeds, it can occur in less time.  If your Yorkie puppy does not eat for a long period of time, a hypoglycemic attack is likely to happen.  Make sure your pet is eating at regular intervals.

Puppies might not eat, but it is never intentional.  There can be many reasons why your Yorkie may not be eating, including:

• Stress – Visiting a veterinarian, traveling too much, change of home environment, a thunderstorm, vaccinations, etc. are all things that add stress to your tiny Yorkie puppy and in turn, they may not want to eat.
• Activity and Play – If a puppy is more captivated with playing than eating then they may not be getting the rest and nourishment they need.  Every couple of hours, take away their toys and be sure they get some food and rest.  Avoid over-handling young puppies so they can get enough rest and sleep.
• Exposure to lower temperatures for longer periods of time can cause hypoglycemia in dogs.  A Yorkie’s body will adjust it’s body temperature to compensate and this can lead to a change in metabolism, all of which leads to hypoglycemia.  Keep your Yorkie in areas where it stays around 72 to 74 degrees.
• Illness – A sick puppy may not want to eat.  Your Yorkie may have a fever due to a communicable illness, reaction to a vaccination, bacterial infection, or intestinal parasites can also lead to loss of appetite.

Treatment/prevent your puppy from hypoglycemia 

To help prevent your Yorkie from getting hypoglycemia make sure they are eating and drinking well, make sure they are not playing too hard, make sure they have time to rest,  to prevent this you can give them a small pea size of Nautical on their tongue when in stress or not eating. I would give them this for a few days until they have their appetite back.  if your Yorkie is having a hypoglycemia attack get white corn syrup or honey asap if giving corn syrup you can give .5 now that is .5ml on their gums if no response in 10 mins give a little more then rush to your vet. If you have no corn syrup you can use Honey too you need to get sugar into them as soon as possible and threw their gums it absorbs fast than just oral.

Some puppy care tips.

These tips are for the first few weeks, to help your new pup adjust! Please read this is very important!

1.  The most important rule, is to always have food & water available for your puppy at all times!  Due to their small size, teacups must replenish their energy more frequently than larger size puppies.  The only way to do this is by supplying plenty of nourishment in the form of food.  You must remember that puppies only eat very small amounts of food at a time but they exert large amounts of energy.  Also, do not change the puppies’ food for the first 2 weeks until the puppy has adjusted to its a new home.  Then, if you are going to make any changes, do it gradually by slowly adding more of the new food to the old food each day until they are totally switched over to the new food.

2.  Have a play yard or playpen or some other type of small enclosed area to keep your teacup confined in when you are not playing with them.  This will help you keep a good eye on your puppy and also help with potty training.  This must be an area with enough room for their bed and easy access to food, water and poppy pad. Never give your tiny Yorkie puppy the run of the whole house until they are at least 5 or 6 months old and potty trained.  With such a large space to run around in, it is too easy for them to tire and lose track of where their food is.  This could lead to hypoglycemia or death.

3.  Always make sure that you have a firm grip on your puppy at all times with it is off the ground.  Many fatalities or broken bones have been caused by a tiny dog wiggling out of an owner’s grasp, or jumping off a lap, couch, or bed, and breaking their neck, legs, or landing on their head.  Always supervise small children when around or handling a small dog.  The only safe way for a child to hold a small dog is sitting on the floor with the puppy between their legs, or on their lap.  Also, never leave a small puppy on a chair, bed, couch, or stairs unattended.  Remember, a fall from as low as two feet high can be fatal!

4. Never leave your teacup unattended unless it is in its playpen or a safe enclosure!  There are many places that such a tiny dog can manage to fit in, and disappear from, not to mention get stuck under!

I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE THAT IT IS EASY TO PUT INSTRUCTIONS AWAY, WITH THE BEST INTENTIONS OF READING IT LATER.  HOWEVER, SOME OF THESE GUIDELINES ARE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH FOR YOUR TINY YORKIES PUPPY.

BEFORE YOU READ ANY FURTHER, MAKE SURE YOU REALIZE THAT A TINY YORKIES IS A HIGH MAINTENANCE DOG!  THEY REQUIRE A LOT OF TIME, ATTENTION, AND HUMAN INTERACTION!  EVEN MY BIGGEST PUPS ARE SMALL.  THE TINY YORKIES REQUIRE EXTRA ATTENTION AND A CLOSE EYE ON THEM.  I DON’T RECOMMEND THAT YOU PURCHASE A YORKIE, ESPECIALLY A TINY, IF YOU ARE GONE A LOT, HAVE SMALL CHILDREN, OR IF YOU DON’T PLAN ON MAKING IT PART OF YOUR FAMILY.  I BEG YOU TO READ UP ON THE BREED!  THIS IS JUST A GUIDE,  NOT  A PROFESSIONAL BOOK!

TINY YORKIES CHOKE, THEY CHOKE, AND THEY CHOKE!!    WHEN GIVING YOUR PUPPY FOOD, SNACK, OR MAYBE EVEN THE FORBIDDEN TIDBIT FROM THE TABLE, ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW SMALL THEIR THROATS ARE.  UNLIKE MOST DOGS, THEY GET THE SMALLEST THINGS CAUGHT IN THEIR THROATS.

CUT-UP EVERYTHING YOU GIVE TO THEM, INTO VERY SMALL PIECES!  ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE PUPPIES AND CONTINUING THROUGHOUT THEIR LIFETIME.   NOT ONLY IS THEIR THROATS SMALL, but THE SMALLER DOGS ALSO HAVE TROUBLE CHEWING SOMETHING BIGGER.   I USE AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND DRY GO PUPPY FOOD,   MAKE SURE FOOD IS AVAILABLE TO THEM AT ALL TIMES!  THEY WILL EAT SMALL AMOUNTS THROUGHOUT THE DAY, AND NIGHT.

I ALSO RECOMMEND A HALTER LEASH FOR YOUR TINY YORKIES, (NOT A COLLAR) DUE TO THEIR SMALL TRACHEA.

TINY YORKIES CAN HAVE LOW BLOOD SUGAR UNTIL THEY ARE ABOUT 12 WEEKS OLD, AND LONGER IF THEY ARE QUITE SMALL.   MAKE SURE THEY EAT WELL BEFORE THEY PLAY TOO HARD.  IF THEY SEEM SLUGGISH, SHAKE, ACT DRUNK, OR EVEN VOLMIT, GIVE THEM WHITE CORN SYRUP ON THEIR TONGUE OR HONEY ABOUT 1ML I LIKE CORN SYRUP I GET FAST RESPONSE, AND CALL ME.    IF THEY SEEM TO BE PLAYING REALLY HARD, IT WOULDN’T HURT TO GIVE THEM A DOSE TO BE SAFE.  BUT YOU CAN OVERDO IT, SO NO MORE THAN ONCE OR TWICE A DAY.

WATCH WHERE YOU WALK OR SIT.  YOU WILL LEARN TO SCOOT YOUR FEET WHEN YOU WALK AND ALWAYS WATCH WHERE YOU STEP.  THEY RUN UNDER YOUR FEET UNTIL THEY FIGURE OUT THAT IT MIGHT BE A DANGEROUS PRACTICE.  THE OTHER THING I NOTICED WITH ALL MY DOGS, IS THEY WILL JUMP ON THE COUCH OR CHAIR, AND LOOK UP AT YOU LOVINGLY.  YOU MOVE THEM OVER SO YOU CAN SIT NEXT TO THEM AND AS YOU TURN TO SIT, THEY JUMP UNDER YOU AND END UP GETTING SAT ON!  I LEARNED TO HOLD THEM AS YOU ARE SITTING.  UNTIL THEY HAVE LEARNED TO GET OUT OF YOUR WAY, BE VERY CAREFUL!  NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN ALONE WITH PUPPIES OR TINIES.

MANY TINY YORKIES, (EVEN 12 LB) HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO MEET THEIR DEMISE TO OUTSIDE DANGERS!  OTHER DOGS, HAWKS, OWLS, AND COYOTES, HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO CARRY THEM OFF.  USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN YOUR DOG IS OUTSIDE.   KEEP IN MIND PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO STEAL THEM TOO.  ONE NEW OWNER HAD HER BABY STOLEN WHILE PAYING FOR GAS!  BE ON YOUR GUARD AT ALL TIMES.

YORKIES ARE CAPABLE OF THAT LONG BEAUTIFUL HAIR.  IT TAKES A LOT OF WORK TO KEEP THEM BEAUTIFUL.  EVEN IF YOU DECIDE TO KEEP THEIR COATS SHORT, YOU NEED TO KEEP THEIR REAR-ENDS CLIPPED SHORT.  THE HAIR TRENDS TO GET IN THE WAY WHEN THEY POTTY.  EVENTUALLY, THERE IS A BUILD-UP, AND THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO POOP.  THIS COULD BE VERY SERIOUS AND NEEDS TO BE WATCHED, EVEN AS ADULTS.

WHEN YOUR PUPPY IS 7-9 MONTHS OLD, YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT AN ADULT TOOTH IS NOT GROWING ALONGSIDE OF HIS PUPPY TOOTH.  IT IS VERY COMMON TO HAVE TROUBLE LOSING THEIR PUPPY TEETH.  FEMALES SHOULD BE SPAYED BEFORE THEY ARE 9 MONTHS OLD, MALES NEUTERED, AS YOUNG AS YOUR VET RECOMMENDS, THEY WILL MARK TERRITORIES IF OLDER.

YOUR  TINY YORKIES PUPPY WILL HAVE THE TIPS OF HIS EARS SHAVED THIS LOOKS MUCH MORE NEATER AND HELPS KEEP THE WEIGHT OF THE EARS,

YORKIES ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO YOUR MOODS!  THEY JUST MELT IF THEY THINK YOU ARE MAD AT THEM, BE SURE TO LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU STILL LOVE THEM, EVEN IF THEY DID DO SOMETHING BAD.  NEVER HIT OR KICK THEM.  A FIRM, “NO” IS USUALLY SUFFICIENT.   THEY WILL RUN TO YOU, IF THEY ARE IN TROUBLE, JUST TO GET THAT REASSURANCE.  CHAOS IN THE HOUSE WILL MAKE THEM SHIVER IN FEAR, AS WELL AS TRIPS TO THE VET, AND UNKNOWN CIRCUMSTANCES TO THEM.  BE SURE TO LET THEM KNOW EVERYTHING IS OK. THEY NEED LOTS OF LOVE AND ATTENTION!

TINY YORKIES ARE VERY ACTIVE.  ESPECIALLY UP TO ABOUT 10 MONTHS OLD.  THEY ARE VERY ATHLETIC, AND LIKE TO RUN!  THEY SETTLE DOWN TO BE QUITE THE LAP DOG, AS ADULTS.  YORKIES ALSO LIKE TO CHEW.  I BUY TODDLER TEETHING TOYS (THOSE WITHOUT WATER) FOR THEM, EVEN AS ADULTS.  THE SIZE IS RIGHT, AND THEY LOVE THE RATTLE SOUNDS MOST TEETHERS COME WITH.  A WORD TO THE WISE, KEEP ALL PAPER OUT OF REACH.  PUPPIES ARE THE WORST, BUT EVEN MY ADULTS LOVE TO CHEW PAPER, ESPECIALLY MAGAZINES AND PHONE BOOKS
